On-site training/diplomas

After the pandemic period, we are restructuring the school’s activities and courses. We focus our activities on the two-week intensive course format on “MATERNAL-FETAL ULTRASONOGRAPHY”. This course is structured as an intensive and comprehensive course in the wide field of maternal-fetal medicine, starting from the physiology to the main pathologies with the support of the virtual reality. The “MATERNAL-FETAL ULTRASONOGRAPHY” intensive course will be scheduled starting next September (2023).

The new policy of the School is to keep the 4-week residential courses only for those who have passed the intensive course on “MATERNAL-FETAL ULTRASONOGRAPHY”. Therefore, only selected applicants (in relation to their profit and in relation to the availability of the school), having the Diploma in “MATERNAL-FETAL ULTRASONOGRAPHY”, will have the opportunity to attend the 4-week residential courses.

Following the on-site courses you can have a full immersion in the field of Ob/Gyn ultrasonography of your choice. After attending the course and passing the examination, the participants achieve the Diploma in the specific field of application.

If you are unable to come it is possible to follow the live events with scheduled streaming sections or to watch the on-line lectures.

Diploma in "Maternal-Fetal Ultrasonography"

From September 2023, we are implementing a new intensive course with a new format. We believe that it would be extremely attractive with more intensive and concise activities in two weeks. This new intensive two weeks format of “DIPLOMA IN MATERNAL-FETAL ULTRASONOGRAPHY” is dedicated to a wide range of topics covering all the fields of prenatal diagnosis and maternal-fetal medicine. Applicants will have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive experience using state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment and technology including the use of virtual reality in a clinical setting. The courses will be very informal and organized as one-to-one teaching, with two weeks of attendance of theoretical lessons and live ultrasound sessions (half theoretical/half live). In this new format of the Diploma, we provide the VIRTUAL REALITY TECHNOLOGY to perform virtual ultrasound scans of the normal/abnormal fetal anatomy. The first week of the course is dedicated to the knowledge of the ultrasound technology and to the study of the normal fetal anatomy. The second week is dedicated to the study of the main challenging fetal anomalies of all fetal organs/systems. If you are unable to come for the on-site training, you can apply for the ON-LINE LIVE VERSION that includes all the theoretical activities of the Diploma. After attending these training activities and passing the final examination you will have the Diploma in Maternal-Fetal Ultrasonography. If you follow the On-Line Live Version, a Certificate of attendance for the theoretical part of the Diploma will be provided.

The Diploma in "Basic Ob/Gyn Ultrasonography" offers a basic education in obstetric and gynecological ultrasound. The Diploma combines theoretical and practical on-site training. Participants receive a basic level teaching in ultrasound to evaluate the fetus and the main aspects of the female reproductive system.

The Diploma in "1st Trimester Ultrasonography" offers a high level of education. It focuses on the screening of chromosomal anomalies and on the evaluation of early fetal anatomy. Participants receive a high level of training for the evaluation of aneuploidies' risk and fetal anomalies during the first trimester.

thank you for your interest in the Permanent School of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (PSUOG). First of all, I hope that you, your family and your friends are fine after this pandemic period. As the overall situation related to the pandemic is improving, and all the issues related to permission/travel are solved, we are ready to start the school activities from the 1^st September 2023.

We are implementing a new intensive course with a new format. We believe that it would be very attractive with more intensive and concise activities in two weeks. This new intensive two weeks format of “DIPLOMA IN MATERNAL-FETAL ULTRASONOGRAPHY” is dedicated to a wide range of topics covering all the fields of prenatal diagnosis and maternal-fetal medicine. Applicants will have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive experience using state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment and technology including the use of virtual reality in a clinical setting.

The courses will be very informal and organized as one-to-one teaching, with two weeks of attendance of theoretical lessons and live ultrasound sessions (half theoretical/half live session). The course is planned to be essentially as an observer and you sometimes may perform a hands-on scan on real patients.

In this new format of the Diploma, we provide the VIRTUAL REALITY TECHOLOGY to perform virtual ultrasound scans of the normal/abnormal fetal anatomy.

The first week of the course is dedicated to the knowledge of the ultrasound technology and to the study of the normal anatomy of the fetus. The second week is dedicated to the study of the main challenging fetal anomalies of all fetal organs/systems.

During the weekend and free time, you can study or take the opportunity to travel and know the culture of the beautiful and historical places of the region.

The cost of this two weeks intensive traineeship Diploma is € 3000. If you like to come with a colleague, there will be a discount and the cost for each applicant will be € 2000 (obviously, in this case, the traineeship will be one-to-two).

From the 1^stof September, we will start to realize the ON-LINE LIVE VERSION that includes all the theoretical activities of the Diploma in Maternal-Fetal Ultrasonography. After attending these training activities a Certificate of attendance for the theoretical part of the Diploma will be provided. The cost of this ON-LINE LIVE VERSION is € 1500 for each participant.

To book your traineeship period you must pay in advance the full fee for your Diploma or the fee for the ON-LINE LIVE VERSION. Please, consider that the due fee eventually paid is not refundable for any reason. Only in the case of documented “force majeure” the paid fee is maintained for your postponed training period, but this will be subjected to the priority of the school activities agenda and rescheduled according to the school availability. In the case the training period has to be canceled by you (due to the documented causes of “force majeure”), you should send an official mail with the request of a refund not later than 30 days before your planned start, otherwise, the payment will not be refunded.

Planning the period of your onsite traineeship, you are responsible for all the aspects related to your travel and it is necessary that you subscribe to an insurance policy that covers the risks of accidents and the ones related to your professional activities as an observer doctor, valid abroad and particularly in Italy. The document related to the insurance policy must be sent before your planned traineeship with the receipt of the full payment of the Diploma.

Due to the number of requests and the waiting list, we need to know your preferred time for the traineeship to organize the agenda and plan your session.
